Psalms 118:1
We have had a very interesting Thanksgiving(and it is still early!)... Of course we are all very thankful that God has allowed us to start remodeling, and so we decided to spend the day working on our house. Dad is installing our new vacuum, and the rest of us cleaned up some dry-wall that we had ripped off the school room wall and then put it all into the dumpster. Then we started taking out all the bushes in front of our house. We were re-locating them along the fence behind our house. Things were going very good, (building those muscles!) until we were three bushes away from being done. Someone ( notice that I'm not mentioning any names) hit one of our water pipes. Now, imagine us - tired, ready to go eat our Thanksgiving dinner, VERY extremely dirty, and we didn't smell the best. :-D But, to fix this pipe, we had to turn off our water. So, we can't shower, we can't even wash our hands!!! We were planning on going to some friends' house for Thanksgiving dinner, so hopefully they won't mind us useing their shower! :-D
Anyway, even though this isn't how we would imagine the perfect Thanksgiving, I think that God gives us problems (like having no water when we are dirty, smelly, etc), to see how thankful we really are and to teach us to be more thankful when we have these blessings!!
