Come & Sit Awhile.

Mom has always wanted rocking chairs on our front porch. Over the last few months, we have been searching at our favorite thrift stores for reasonable rocking chairs. We were thrilled to find some and redo our front porch for under $60! We thoughly enjoyed repainting the chairs and covering $2 pillows we found at Wal-mart with matching material...for finishing touches, we added seashells from our last beach vacation and some organic pine cones. :)

And then for the back porch, we had previously had a wicker porch set. We got creative and used old mattress pads to make some cushions. :) A friend had given us quite alot of outdoor material which we used to finish off the cushions....and very reasonably, we found some material & covered a few pillows. It was a very fun project ~
Cushions & Cushion Material = free!
Pillow Material = $7
New Pillows = ($2 each) $12
Wire baskets = $3
Total = $22
We added some dried hydrangea blooms, pompus grass and seashells. (And, of course, a favorite turtle shell.)

Daddy was a bit concerned that we were going to need to add on to our porch at one point, but in the end, we are pleased with the way it turned out. :)
This was something we had been hoping to get accomplished all summer, but the fall weather came at just the right time ~ is anyone else loving the fact that it is cool enough for sweaters?
