St. Patrick's Day!

Five days until St. Patrick's day! We usually don't celebrate (I mean, what is there to celebrate?!?!) but last year I was reading on Grace Mally's blog and she was talking about how they celebrate -- by sharing the true meaning of St. Patrick's day. You can click here to read and then download and print the tract they give to many people each year on St Patrick's Day... Last year we printed some out, and then got so busy that we never did end up giving out more than one or two. But this year, we are hoping to try harder! Here is a few things that the tract pointed out that I never knew before ~

Did you know?

- St. Patrick wasn't Irish, he was English.
- At the age of 16, Patrick was captured by pirates from his home in England and sold into slavery in Ireland.
- During his time of imprisonment, something very important happened in Patrick's life--he turned to God. In his own words, he explained, "It was there that the Lord opened the understanding of my unbelieving heart, so that I should recall my sins and turn with all my heart to the Lord my God."
- After six years of slavery, Patrick finally escaped from Ireland.
- Now that Patrick had been released, he made an incredible decision. He decided to return to Ireland, the place of his imprisonment, as a missionary. He wanted to share the with them the message that had changed his life!

"And he (Jesus) said unto them, Go ye and preach the gospel to every creature....So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was recieved up into heaven, and sat at the right hand of God.
