Living good~

Well, even though our house is presently a huge mess, we are enjoying an amazingly comfortable and happy place to rest our heads at night. Some of our friends from church took us in and we have enjoyed getting to know them better and cooking for each other. (Lucky for us, b/c the husband used to work in restaurants as a chief!!) Unfortunately, we can't upload pictures on their computer, but just the same this is what has been happening at our house since we have moved out--

First they did the sheet rock and the taping and muding. It was quite the thing - they were done with the sheet rock by the first day and they did all the taping and muding the second. We went back in the evenings to check on things and feed the animals. (See the last post for pictures up to this stage).

Then they cleaned-up over the weekend from all that, but we hadn't seen anything yet compared to what was coming... This morning, when we got to the house to pick up a few things, they were moving all of our furniture out of the existing parts of the house. (The rooms that are original). We are getting smooth ceilings, so they had to scrape the "popcorn" off of the old ones. It is a massive mess. They use a sort of "vacuum" I guess, to "pull" the "popcorn" off. (haha, that is a lot of quotes.) They wouldn't even let us in the house because of the mess and we had to look in through the windows. :-D It made us very thankful to return to our friend's CLEAN house that we are staying with.

Our contractor is quite the guy. If anyone knows me well, they know that I love to take pictures. I purchased my first digital camera last fall, and it pretty much goes everywhere with me. A few weeks ago, I was snaping some picture of us riping out the tub, and he was helping. He got very up-set when I took a picture of him without asking him first. Anyway, since he is always teasing and making fun of us, I took another picture of him, then took one of my dad and then one of my mom. So now, everytime he sees me he asks me to take a picture of something. It is everything from a nail on the ground to a layer of dust. He makes fun of us all for different reasons, (playfully, of course!). I will try to post again soon about some of the different things that he makes fun of each of us about.

That is a tiny glimpse of our world for now. Take care - Nikki
