We moved back into our house yesterday after spending many hours cleaning it out. The friends we were staying with came and helped us and there is no way we could have got everything cleaned up if they hadn't come over to work with us! We scrubbed, vacuumed, dusted, moved furniture, put up beds, washed out tubs, sinks, and scrapped all the mud off the carpeting. I thought that we were never going to move back into our house. Then after we had everything cleaned, we had un-pack some of our stuff that we need to live here. It felt like we were moving, except I think that it was worse, because we couldn't un-pack much since we will be packing everything back up when they paint. We will be staying in our house while they paint, but there is a chance we will have to leave again while they are doing the flooring. (Too bad we can't just go on another cruise while they are doing
that, huh?) On the bright side, the girls got to sleep in their new room last night for the first time and we are all home and together. It is far from being totally clean here and we are "making do" with many things, but we are home and together. It is amazing how it actually looks like a house now, and I sometimes get lost in it. (Well, not really - sometimes I try to go through a door and then realized that there isn't a door there anymore.) Anyway, all in all we are home and we are surviving!
